Conservative Activist / Researcher / Author :
SurgeUSA.org - January 2009 to date
Bruce Donnelly set up SurgeUSA.org on Inauguration Day,
January 20, 2009 as a personal initiative in anticipation of the harmful
economic and other policies of the incoming Obama administration and the
new Democratic leadership in Congress. The goal was to help limit
the damage prior to 2010 elections.
It was already obvious that "elections have
consequences", and that the economic and foreign policy consequences
were going to be very bad for a long time. His experience in the
planning of business growth projects, economic development, job
creation, and new business location decisions worldwide provided
confidence only that Obama's tenure would soon prove to be even worse
than Carter's.
SurgeUSA.org was set up to help conservatives across the
country to connect with each other and share ideas about what works in
practice to achieve better outcomes. Individuals still have the
power as "we the people" to influence their government and avoid harmful
changes even if the Republican Party does not have enough votes in
Congress on their own to stop radical changes until at least 2011.
Instead of creating yet another blog, network, or PAC to
compete for members, donations, and influence from a top-down national
perspective, the idea was to empower individual conservatives through
many useful links, social networking opportunities, and
custom search tools to become more actively
engaged at the state and local level, regardless of party affiliation.
That soon included support for "grassroots" initiatives such as the
Tea Party movement and the
9/12 project.
Rather than developing a narrow focus on a single issue,
the plan was to serve as a resource for many individual conservatives to
find what interests them and work locally as volunteers with others who
share those interests. As with the
Tea Party tactics, conservatives
needed to be actively "silent no more", rather than to be relegated to
the futility of complaining from the back bench like the "loyal
opposition" in a parliamentary system. It was basically a
counter-insurgency strategy and
call to action for local resistance
to quickly get organized and stop the radicals to
restore the principles of limited
government.

President, Global Direct Investment Solutions -
September 2001 to date
Bruce set up Global Direct Investment Solutions in
September 2001 as a "concierge service" to introduce senior executives
to relevant professional advisors, information resources, and economic
development professionals for the planning of capital investment
projects anywhere.
He recognized the unmet need to create a more
effective online and personal referral marketplace to bring corporate
executives, professional service providers, and economic development
representatives together to develop major business growth projects
faster and better.
He invested over a decade of professional experience
in this niche, plus new research and relationship development work,
before launching the business as the economy recovered from recession in
2004.
Within 3 years, the websites set up for this referral
work were attracting 50,000+ visitors per month - more than magazines in
this niche market which had been circulating for the last 20 - 40 years.
The knowledge behind this business includes links to
thousands of relevant professionals worldwide, and direct personal
experience in support of more than 1000 corporate expansion projects. |
