Interesting blogger idea -
"The Brevity Act - Time for a 28th Amendment" suggestion to

If you missed the nationwide Tax Day Tea Party
protests with an estimated
600,000-800,000 people in over 800 cities on April 15, join us again
on July 4.
Instead of apologizing to critics and tyrants for everything which
America has done in the world before Obama decided to lecture all of us
about how we should act to be good Americans, let's stand up for what we
believe. Honor the veterans and others who have defended our
Constitution and American values, instead of trying to find ways to work
around them to advance their own power and social agenda. |
|
We need to reconsider the direction of the Tea Party movement in the
context of the latest moves in Congress to ram through budget
legislation this year regardless of any opposition to it. Refer also to the
Liberty for USA blog: "Turn up the heat on the Elite" for some
initial thoughts about how to actually have a meaningful impact through
local action. |

May 16, 2009 - Dems' climate bill shy on tax credit help - Comment:
Beware the American Clean Energy and Security Act -
HR 2454 (pdf
text). They changed some provisions to try to make it easier
to ram through this new "cap and trade" policy without people
recognizing the full harmful costs of it at first. |
|
Action Alert: Pay attention to the "cap and trade" issue.
A recent blog entry from
Americans for Prosperity was elaborated on Fox New Blogs -
Fox Forum to explain how this may turn out to be a very regressive
$1.3 - $1.9 trillion tax (or more) - and that's just the first 8 year
estimate of a 40 year plan for which the costs will keep rising over
time. This will be a huge hidden tax burden on all Americans.

DIS Organizing for America - the drones who
were sent out in March to seek blind pledges of loyal support for Obama's budget
and agenda. As expected, they e-mailed millions of his
campaign supporters to do this. Did any actually
read the
2010 Budget (summary .pdf) they were allegedly endorsing? In
any case, the Tax Day Tea Parties
vastly outnumbered the pledges they gathered. |

Are our veterans being played for
suckers? Political games to push

Action Alert: GIVE Act - thanks to Conservative Allies of PA for
calling this to our attention! Look into the
details of HR 1388, which expands "volunteer" service programs under
federal government control. This was signed by Obama on April 22.
Watch what they do through this federal intrusion into state and local
issues through voluntary national service as a way to build their
network of local social activists. |
|
What about The 912 Project which Glenn Beck
is promoting? Is it about him, or about you? He was
very supportive of the Tax Day Tea Parties, including his broadcast from
the one in San Antonio, after his prior skepticism about whether
Americans were ready for this type of local volunteer initiative yet. |

Where is the nationwide Chicago Tea Party taxpayer revolt going?
Our own thoughts, suggestions. |
|
Hundreds of people showed up for the first Chicago Tea Party
taxpayer revolt in February. See our photos
from the
event and various news videos, news reports, and other links from many
cities. On April 15, there were many thousands of people in
Chicago, and in 750+ other cities. |

Organize your own local conservative
"Surge" strategy. Outperform the liberal insurgents. |
|
Please choose to hang together, rather than to hang separately.
Work with your friends. Choose to become the
awakening leaders of a "surge" in your local community and state.
Share your ideas as you achieve the success which you
seek in your own lives and communities.
Don't focus on what distant politicians or others
should do for you, or for your city, state, or country.
Focus on what you can do for yourselves today.
Advance the cause of freedom where you live.
Honor the vision and sacrifices of those who have
protected your freedoms for over 200 years.
Don't just complain about all of the problems you
perceive. Choose to do something about them.
Be that shining beacon on the hill, the light of
freedom and progress which cannot be hid. |

America is the social network which has transformed the world from the
bottom of the pyramid. We lead as
individuals who are free to choose how to work together as shared
interest groups, as in business in competitive markets, to find and
efficiently implement creative solutions to our common needs and
aspirations. We don't redistribute private property more "fairly"
through government social programs. We grow our economy through
private initiatives, not public policy mandates and spending. |
|
Think about it. We started as colonial outcasts and immigrants by
choice. We left behind the imperial superpowers and
nationalistic power struggles and conflicts of colonial or modern times.
We chose to leave behind the predictable lives in our former societies,
wherever they were in the world. We chose to
follow our American dream that, if given the freedom to do so, we could
create much better lives for ourselves, and for our families, for many
generations to come. We didn't come here to serve a more
benevolent government. We took great personal risks to follow our
own dreams, and to defend our freedoms vigorously against all threats,
foreign or domestic, by those who were determined to rule over us for
their own advantage. We the people created our own prosperity -
not our government leaders.
We the people defended the cause of advancing our own
freedom, as well as the freedom of many others. We delegated
limited powers to our federal government to serve our common needs for
such defense. We did not delegate the political authority to
manipulate our economy and our personal lives. |
| We
do not expect our public servants at any level of government to mandate
how we should live our lives. We respect the responsibilities
which we all share toward each other as free individuals with a great
diversity of backgrounds and views about how to create the better future
we seek. |
|
This is not a partisan political "movement" to empower political leaders
in Washington or elsewhere. This is not "against Obama", or
against Democrats. It is for all Americans.
The vision is to help network the many groups of private
individuals who have chosen freely to work together toward shared social
goals by contributing their own efforts and resources. The metric
for success isn't to amass large databases and donations. It is to
help spread the ideas which have worked as local initiatives begin to
achieve the better outcomes they are seeking.
This initiative is not to mobilize people nationally
to advocate a particular policy position or change in government.
It is to reawaken the power which we already have repeatedly proven can
achieve great and enduring social progress when we work together as free
individuals. That is the change we can really believe in - the
change which we lead through our own actions in respectful cooperation
with others. |
| We
are not the loyal subjects of a powerful government which promises to
spread the wealth more fairly. We are not the "loyal opposition",
whining for attention and influence from the back bench. We do not
covet more power in Washington. We want less power to be there. |
| We
do not seek to control this country from the top down.
We already control it from the bottom up. We have
for over 200 years.
The question before us is whether that revolutionary
concept will long endure, or be abandoned. Will we concede defeat
by these new insurgents, leave the country divided, and abandon this
fight?
We the people are still in charge here.
We have temporarily entrusted new leaders at the national level with the
responsibility to support our progress. We must remain vigilant,
not complacent, about the transfer of power and resources to our federal
politicians, their appointees, and other civil servants. We the
people still drive the economic progress and prosperity of this country,
not the federal government. |
