Grow local leadership, not the federal bureaucracy

National Issues
This
page will share ideas about national issues in many policy areas, but
primarily with a focus on economic development issues. In short,
what created and sustains our national economic prosperity? The
liberals are full of doom and gloom these days, as though only their
latest spending programs can save us from a fate worse than the Great
Depression - which their policies prolonged and made worse.

The example from IndyMac is pretty stunning..
Congress: A threat to Human Intelligence,
and a friend to tyrants. Did you ever wonder why al-Qaeda
leaders have shown no concern about failing to hit the U.S. Capitol
building since 9/11/01? Surely that's worthy of a public field
investigation by critics of our intelligence agencies. Why not
have members of Congress conduct an investigatory hearing in Swat or
South Waziristan to discuss this?

Going Postal - Guess who wants to

"Full faith and
credit." Would you willingly go into debt forever to pay for
more federal spending? We should be very scared as the debt grows
into trillions with no end in sight, or evident concern about it.
Social
Insecurity. The audacity of hoping for
ever larger federal Ponzi schemes.
"Creating and
saving jobs". Even kids soon doubt the reality of an
Easter Bunny who redistributes free eggs to all. They know that
they only come from chickens - and are usually bought at a store at the
market price. They know that their parents work hard to put food
on the table and care for their needs.
Federal, state, and local officials seem to be even more out of touch
with reality about job creation, as though they were elected to be the
Easter Bunny and provide well-paid jobs and free benefits for all.
"In God We
Trust." Like it still says on
the money. Not politicians or bureaucrats.
Declaration of Independence - The
lofty rhetoric of the Declaration of Independence from 1776 is so
fundamental to American political values that it deserves careful review.
Excepts are repeated here, along with our thoughts about the relevance to
our current political circumstances.
