Joe Walsh videos - the rock star, not the politician
One
of the classic rock stars of the 1970s and 1980s, Joe Walsh of the James
Gang and The Eagles, remains very popular to this day. During the
2010 election, a completely unrelated Joe Walsh
emerged as a Republican candidate for Congress in the Illinois 8th
District, as featured through this website. As it happens, Joe
Walsh (the politician) is also a fan of Joe Walsh (the rock star).
For
the benefit of our many visitors who are fans of both Joe Walsh (the
politician) and Joe Walsh (the rock star), we have compiled this
collection of some of the "greatest hits" videos which we have found on
YouTube from various Joe Walsh concerts. Separately, we have
compiled some of the best campaign videos
associated with Joe Walsh, the politician.
Joe
Walsh - All Night Long - recorded in concert in 1983. This
song reportedly hit #19 on the pop charts in July 1980, the same year
that Ronald Reagan was elected President - and soon after Joe Walsh (the
politician) graduated.
Joe
Walsh - Walk Away - 1977 Hotel California tour by The Eagles,
live, before they broke up in 1981. There are also early versions
of this song, such as this video which is reportedly from a vinyl
DJ
promo copy by the James Gang in 1971 or this other video from the
James Gang in concert in 1971 (with some sound issues on this
version, but interesting anyway)..
Joe
Walsh - One Day At A Time - later in life, after problems with
alcohol, which he reportedly gave up 17 years ago. Joe Walsh
recently offered to help the government of Australia, during The Eagles
upcoming concert tour (Dec 2010) to spread the message about the disease
of drug and alcohol addiction.
Joe
Walsh - Funk #49 - at the Crossroads Guitar Festival 2004 in the
Cotton Bowl, Dallas TX. Joe Walsh also joined James Taylor at that
concert for
Steamroller Blues
Life
in the fast lane - this version is apparently from Wembley
Stadium later in life.
Still reviewing videos to
find a really good early version. Many videos seem to have been
pulled from YouTube because of copyright complaints, which is
unfortunate since similar content featuring the range of his old concert
performances does not seem to be commercially available for those fans
who would buy it. Here's an interesting
2007 version from a rock and roll fantasy camp in Las Vegas.
It may not have the polish of a concert tour, but it shows he still is
amazing after all these years.
Paul, Ringo and Walsh - Beatles Birthday Live 2010 - amazing
video as Ringo Starr turns 70 - July, 2010. There are other
YouTube videos of this by people in the crowd, which went wild (i.e.,
shaky videos). Notice who else is on guitar - at the left.
The Eagles - are back on tour! Don
Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit were together again
in October for various concerts, including Austin City Limits, where
they reportedly did a set with “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” “Hotel
California,” “I Can’t Tell You Why,” “Witchy Woman” and “Take It Easy”
as well as the James Gang’s “Walk Away” and “Funk #49” and Henley’s
“Boys of Summer” and “Dirty Laundry” according to this
article from San Antonio Express News Oct 12.
Here are some other recent news reports about their
concert tour
Their US tour is now finished, but they will be
on tour in Australia from December 2 - 22, 2010. They were in
Chicago at Soldier Field on June 19, 2010. Hopefully they will
come back soon at a better concert venue. Sears Centre, perhaps?
It sure would be nice to get him to play here in the Illinois 8th
District (NW Chicago suburbs) rather than downtown!
As
with all such concert videos, whether they originated as professional
productions or personal ones, we had no role in their production or
distribution online, and encourage all fans of Joe Walsh to purchase his
albums if they enjoy his music. There are many other Joe Walsh
videos in circulation. These are just a few which seemed to be
worth sharing with our visitors.
The presence of any video here is not meant to imply
any endorsement of Joe Walsh (the politician) by Joe Walsh (the rock
star), or anything else. These are just some classic concert
videos which we hope our visitors enjoy as much as we do.
The
inclusion of any website links on this site does not reflect any endorsement
of their content, or vice versa. This information is just shared
openly for the convenient reference of our visitors.
