Support
Tim Burns
for Congress in Pennsylvania's 12th District. See
Sarah Palin's comments. It looks as though
Tim Burns lost the special election to Critz 53%-45%, but keep in mind
that this is a district which is reportedly 2/3 Democratic. The
split was 70,867 D and 60,653 R, so the spread was only about 10,000
votes. This setback can still be reversed in November through hard
campaign work. After all, Critz won't be able to pretend to be a
moderate or conservative once he returns to the House. |
|
No time for complacency. Arlen Specter may
have lost the primary to Sestak, but between them they attracted over 1
million votes, as compared to a little over 800,000 for the two
Republicans. Toomey attracted more votes than either Specter or
Sestak, but voter turnout in November is critical. |

Sestak, Critz skip Obama event - Keeping their distance in
Pittsburgh. |
|
May 28, 2010 -
WH had Clinton try to ease Sestak out of Pa. race - Why would
Bill Clinton agree to do this for Obama or Rahm Emanuel? Surely he
knew that this action could be illegal. For those old enough to
remember Doonesbury's objective commentary from the Nixon Watergate era
- "Guilty! Guilty! Guilty!" How is any honest journalist
going to spin this one for the White House? |

Comment: Note that officials from both parties have been
charged by this Attorney General candidate for Governor. |
|
September 4, 2009 - Charlie Dent, US
Representative (R ) PA 15th District - "inappropriate",
uninvited, "disappointed", glad that the teacher handouts have been
revised; parents should talk to their schools. See our own
background about the debate over
Obama's speech to children in school. |

September 15, 2009 -
Obama to talk with autoworkers, AFL-CIO members - Note that his trip
includes a visit to Philadelphia to do a fundraiser for his friend
Arlen Specter. |
|
Congratulations to the Republicans who convinced Arlen
Specter to switch parties. It's time to prove the pundits
wrong again. They
assume Specter will win as the Democratic candidate in 2010. |
|
May 12, 2009 - Democrats stop GOP effort to start ethics inquiry -
Comment: Protecting Murtha. |
|
April 29, 2009 - Specter switches to Democrat, "at odds" with GOP -
Comment: Note his parting insult to Republican primary voters
who made the mistake of trusting him in the past. While some in
the media say that Republicans are "embracing irrelevance", perhaps they
are actually listening. |
|
April 29, 2009 - AP Analysis: Specter defection shrinks GOP's reach
- Comment: A lame effort to portray this as a failure for the
Republicans, showing less reach among independents. It really just
shows less reach among specious
career politicians and their arrogant egos. Consider Specter's
telling remark today about not letting Republican primary voters
determine his fate, after he sized up the fact that he was already
facing a lot of angry voters who would turn out to defeat him next year.
Rather than risk defeat, he switched parties to try to preserve his
career - and may well be defeated anyway. |
|
April 28, 2009 - Sources: Specter intends to switch parties -
Comment: Why not Snowe and
Collins too? Let the RINOs go, and tell the "Blue Dogs" to
stop pretending to be conservatives, too. It's time to draw the
line in the sand, and work very hard locally to defeat these
specious politicians. |
